One avid reader in a family of many, the books of my childhood were of great significance. They instilled in me, as I struggled with mathematics, a promise of possibility that I was unable to articulate for many years. Originally from Calgary, Alberta, I moved to the west coast over a decade ago and graduated from the Western Academy of Photography in 2003. After a year of traveling I attended the University of Victoria to complete a Bachelor of Arts in English while unearthing a passion for literary criticism. I work as an independent, mainly in the lifestyle/mountain culture vein, with work appearing in Snowboard Canada, Skier, and Mountain Life Magazine, among others.
I am fortunate to call Whistler home, and can be found snowshoeing with my dog on the trails behind our house, or jumping off of various docks into various lakes with my husband. Returning to that little light of my childhood, I’m currently at work on a collection of short stories.
